  • Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience in operations management and facilities management.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working in data center environments, including building and operating infrastructure.
  • Experience with initiating and executing initiatives in a global environment.
  • Ability to perform operational assessment and risk analysis of third party sites.
  • Ability to forecast resource requirements in a data driven way.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
About the job

As a part of the Third Party Data Center Operations team, you will provide technical due diligence for site selection, sustains and improves the quality of vendor operated data centers, and mitigates and resolves conflict for critical work risk.

In this role, you will focus on reliable operation of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure of data centers, working with the vendor operator for success. You will be involved in colocation operations for electrical, cooling, and IT infrastructure. You will partner with the Google Data Center Engineering team, Hardware Operations, Network Infrastructure, and third party data center vendors and operators with a focus on operability, maintainability, and reliability. You will represent the operations organization, and ensure operability, maintainability, and reliability are critical criteria for Google assets.

Responsibilities
  • Own third party data centers operation within an area/region with full accountability for this area tactically.
  • Support site selection process through operational and technical knowledge.
  • Perform operational assessment and risk analysis of third party data centers sites.
  • Keep main stakeholders informed about current work and discuss decisions and directions with them.
  • Contribute to focus area strategy and setting strategy for smaller local groups.
