Our client, in the Alberton area, is looking for a Team Leader to supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the truck wash bay team, ensuring all vehicles are cleaned efficiently, safely, and according to company standards while maintaining productivity, quality, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric preferred.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Previous experience in a wash bay, fleet, transport, logistics, depot, or vehicle cleaning environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience.
  • Knowledge of truck, trailer, vehicle, and equipment cleaning standards.
  • Ability to lead staff, allocate tasks, and monitor daily workflow.
  • Understanding of wash bay equipment, cleaning chemicals, detergents, and water usage.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to conduct quality checks and ensure vehicles meet required cleaning standards.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a hands on operational environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work shifts, weekends, or overtime when required.
  • Good communication, reporting, and basic administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise washbay staff during shifts.
  • Allocate daily tasks and monitor workflow.
  • Ensure trucks, trailers, and equipment are cleaned to required standards.
  • Monitor turnaround times and productivity targets.
  • Conduct quality checks before vehicles leave the wash bay.
Staff Management
  • Train new employees on washing procedures, safety, and equipment use.
  • Motivate and manage team performance.
  • Handle minor disciplinary matters and report issues to management.
  • Prepare shift rosters and manage attendance.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
Equipment & Facility Management
  • Ensure wash bay equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Report breakdowns and maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Monitor chemical, detergent, and water usage to minimize waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wash bay area.
