Job Description

Job Title: Tax Compliance Manager
Location: Lynnwood, Pretoria

A well-established audit and accounting firm is seeking an experienced and results-driven Tax Compliance Manager to ensure client compliance in their Tax Department. Company offers exposure to a professional environment with high standards, strong teamwork, and a commitment to service excellence.

We are looking for a proactive and solutions-driven individual with professional skills, sound technical knowledge, and the ability to engage confidently with clients and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of tax clients, including individuals, companies, and trusts
  • Reviewing and approving tax returns (Income Tax, Provisional Tax, VAT, PAYE)
  • Ensuring compliance with SARS regulations and deadlines
  • Managing SARS engagements, including audits, objections, appeals, and dispute resolution
  • Liaising with SARS via eFiling, telephone, and written correspondence
  • Overseeing and improving internal tax processes and controls
  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing Tax Department and junior staff
  • Reviewing work prepared by Tax Administrators and Trainees
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and ensuring implementation within the firm
  • Supporting business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships
Minimum Requirements

Qualification:

  • Relevant degree in Taxation, Accounting, or Finance
  • SAIPA or SAIT registration will be advantageous

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a tax environment
  • Experience in managing a client portfolio
  • Strong practical knowledge of SARS processes and tax compliance
  • Experience in reviewing tax work and managing deadlines

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Professional communication skills with clients, colleagues, and SARS
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Client-focused with a service excellence mindset
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans (spoken and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SARS eFiling
