Location: Johannesburg of Cape Town (with occasional travel between the 2)
Reports to: Head of Finance
Function: Own end-to-end recruiting to meet the company's hiring goals
Role PurposeSource, attract, and hire high-quality talent for the business across operations, commercial, and support functions. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will manage full-cycle recruitment, build strong talent pipelines, and deliver an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience while aligning to budget, headcount plans, and Employment Equity goals.
Key Responsibilities Hiring demand and intake- Partner with managers to clarify role requirements, success profiles, competencies, and interview plans.
- Draft and maintain clear, inclusive job adverts aligned to the business EVP and EE objectives.
- Proactively source via job boards, LinkedIn, networks, referrals, and targeted outreach.
- Maintain warm pipelines for critical roles and hard-to-fill skills; track talent market insights.
- Run structured phone screens and coordinate assessments where relevant.
- Coach interview panels on structured, competency-based interviews and fair, consistent scoring.
- Coordinate interviews, feedback loops, and debriefs; ensure timely progression.
- Conduct reference and background checks as required.
- Prepare competitive, equitable offers aligned to grading and budget; manage candidate closing.
- Handover accepted hires to HR/manager for smooth onboarding; track probation outcomes.
- Ensure a professional, timely, and inclusive candidate experience with clear communications.
- Support employer brand initiatives: social posts, events, careers content, and referral programs.
- Keep ATS/HRIS data clean and current; run weekly dashboards on pipeline health and time-to-fill.
- Report on funnel metrics, diversity mix, and hiring quality signals; support EE plan execution.
- Adhere to POPIA and all recruitment compliance requirements.
- Manage relationships with agencies and assessment vendors; negotiate rates and SLAs.
- Track recruitment costs and support Finance with forecast vs. actuals for hiring.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in HR, Industrial/Organisational Psychology, Business, or related field.
- 3-5 years' experience in full-cycle recruitment (in-house or agency), including sourcing and closing.
- Proven success hiring in South Africa across operational and support roles; familiarity with EE.
- Comfortable with ATS/HRIS tools and recruitment automation; strong Boolean/LinkedIn sourcing skills.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance (BCEA, EEA, POPIA).
- Intermediate, dynamic, and resourceful: proactive sourcer and problem-solver.
- Strong stakeholder management; credible partner to hiring managers with clear, data-backed updates.
- Excellent interviewing, candidate assessment, and closing skills.
- Highly organized with a bias for speed and quality; strong follow-through.
- Clear written and verbal communication; professional candidate engagement.
- Data-driven mindset; turns pipeline metrics into actions and improvements.
- Experience hiring for logistics/industrial/operations-heavy environments.
- Employer branding/content creation experience.
- Familiarity with job evaluation/grading and market benchmarking to inform offers.
- SABPP registration or relevant recruitment certifications.
- Time-to-fill and time-to-offer by role family.
- Quality of hire indicators: probation pass rate and early performance feedback.
- Pipeline health: sourced-to-screened and interview pass-through rates.
- Hiring manager satisfaction/NPS and candidate experience scores.
- Diversity and EE plan contribution for targeted roles.
- Cost-per-hire and agency utilization versus targets.
- ATS data quality and process adherence.
- Hybrid with periodic on-site interviews/assessments; occasional travel within South Africa.
