Systems Administrator

Department: Information Technology

Location: SA Central Johannesburg

Description

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the effective provision, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specialist technical support to users in response to issues pertaining to software development, SRS, documentation, software installations and upgrades.
  • Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and Contractors.
  • General Desktop, Software and Hardware Support and domain User Maintenance and follow-up on hardware repairs.
  • Network-related support (WAN, ISP etc.) and exchange and email Support.
  • Setting up of mobile devices for network and mail connectivity and of the auditorium and training room machines.
  • Audit and upkeep of data cards and conduct monthly generator testing.
  • Take stock for cartridges/toners and ordering of necessary equipment and document solutions for future reference.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Senior Certificate or NQF 4 equivalent
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in a system administration
  • Experience in all or some of the following: Windows 7/8/8.1; Server 2003/2008/2012/2012 R2; Office 2010/2013; Skype; Crystal Reports; Visual Studio 2008/2010/2012
Beneficial Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications
  • Development exposure (i.e., .Net User controls, C#/ VB.NET, COBOL, VBScripting)
