Systems Administrator
LocationMontagu - Route 62, Western Cape (this role will be full time on-site at one of our clients)
Purpose of PositionThe purpose of the End User Support Systems Administrator is to ensure the seamless operation of Microsoft-based end-user systems, providing top-tier technical support to end users, optimizing system security, and fostering effective collaboration with clients. They play a pivotal role in enhancing organizational efficiency and technological proficiency. Their role encompasses safeguarding data, supporting colleagues, and contributing to process improvements.
Service Delivery- Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft-based end-user systems, including Windows operating systems, Office 365, and related software applications.
- Provide technical support to end users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues promptly and effectively.
- Implement and manage endpoint security solutions to protect against threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity.
- Create, manage, and deactivate user accounts, ensuring that proper access controls and security protocols are adhered to.
- Maintain system stability and security by monitoring and applying software updates, patches, and security fixes on a daily basis.
- Design and execute workstation-related data backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Participate in project initiatives, including on-site Infra related projects.
- Contribute to and support project phase activities, which involve configuring Intune and other relevant technologies (participate in backend operations).
- Independently coordinate project tasks and contributes to the achievement of project objectives.
- Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines (VMs) and other Azure resources that end users rely on.
- Create and manage user accounts, groups, and roles in Azure AD.
- Enforce and create compliance policies (password policies, multi-factor authentication policies and identity protection policies, conditional access policies) and regulatory requirements within Azure.
- Monitor resource usage on Azure to optimize cost and performance.
- Implement Azure Firewall and Azure VPN Gateway for network security.
- Configure and manage Azure Backup for data protection.
- Create and manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within SharePoint.
- Create, configure, and manage SharePoint site collections by setting up access controls and permissions to align with business needs.
- Manage document libraries, lists, and content types within SharePoint.
- Implement metadata and tagging strategies for efficient content organization and search.
- Develop and maintain workflows using SharePoint Designer, Microsoft Power Automate (formerly Flow), or other automation tools.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies for SharePoint data.
- Manage Exchange Online for email services, including configuring mailboxes, distribution lists, and email routing.
- Configure and support email clients (Outlook, mobile devices, etc.).
- Implement and maintain Microsoft Teams for real-time collaboration and communication.
- Support the use of Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
- Configure data loss prevention (DLP) policies to protect sensitive information.
- Monitor security threats and incidents using tools like Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their IT requirements and recommend technology solutions to the EUS teams to enhance their operations.
- Conduct end-user training sessions to enhance their IT proficiency and awareness.
- Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Generate and share monthly reports on system performance, security, and compliance with clients.
- Collaborate with IT team members to identify recurring issues, propose solutions, and contribute to process improvements.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to the First Responder Team.
- Support fellow team members to ensure the team succeeds collectively.

Required
- Minimum 5+ years proven experience as a Systems Administrator in a Microsoft-centric environment.
- Minimum 1-3 years' Infrastructure experience in an IT services company.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

- Mimecast - Level 1 - Email Security, Cloud Gateway Fundamentals.
- Mimecast - Level 2 - Email Security, Cloud Gateway Advanced.
- SC-900: Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals.
- At least one of the following or proven experience working on or towards achieving the following:
- MD-102: Endpoint Administrator.
- MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator.MS-700: Teams Administrator Associate.
