Switchboard Operator

A position has become available for a committed individual to join Life Wilgers Hospital as a Switchboard Operator, reporting to the Reception Supervisor. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective management of the telephone service of the Hospital.

• Answering the switchboard
• Updating the telephone lists.
• Direct calls to the right department
• Assist wards and Doctors with faulty telephones / lines.
• Assist Admission staff with admission duties where possible.
• Any other duties or tasks that may arise during the normal course of the day.
• Updating speed dials on switchboard.
• Assist internal and external customers with queries.

• Grade 12 / Matric
• At least 2 years' hospital experience
• Experience in customer care will be advantageous
• Excellent interpersonal skills with good relations with doctors, hospital staff and suppliers.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Team player.
• Very energetic and well organized.
• Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
• Computer literacy is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
