We are currently looking for Submerged Arc Welder (SAW Welder) to perform high-quality welding using the submerged arc welding (SAW) process on heavy steel components, ensuring structural integrity, safety compliance, and adherence to production standards.
- Grade 10 / Matric (preferred).
- Relevant welding certification (SAW qualification highly advantageous).
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in submerged arc welding.
- Experience in heavy engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of submerged arc welding processes.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Good hand-eye coordination and technical skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Problem-solving and fault-finding ability.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures
- Set up and operate submerged arc welding equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and aligning components.
- Perform welding on thick steel plates, pipes, or structural components.
- Monitor welding process parameters (voltage, current, speed, flux).
- Ensure weld quality meets required standards and specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections and assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) where required.
- Maintain welding equipment and report faults or breakdowns.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Complete job cards, production reports, and quality documentation.
