An exciting opportunity exists for a Storeman Permanent Part-time (80 hours) at Indigo Brands, Cape Town. As the successful incumbent you will be responsible for the accurate receiving of finished products and merchandise, its safe stacking and retrieval for picking.

Job Specification: Key Performance Areas:

  • Receiving of Products - Locally Produced and Imported and Merchandising:
    • Ensure that the correct procedure for receiving of Finished Goods from Production, Overseas and Merchandising and from external suppliers as well as renovated stock from Renovations, is being adhered to upon the receipt thereof.
  • Safe stacking of products
    • Adhere to the procedure for generic stacking (SSOP-13) to ensure safe, accurate putting away of stock and the easy retrieval thereof
  • Supply of stacked products to Picking
    • Ensure that the procedure for Replenishing of Picking bins is being followed at all times to provide a speedy availability of products to the picking bins
  • Maintaining of housekeeping and safety standards
    • Keeping racking, aisles and stacked products neat, tidy and dust free
    • Seeing that products and cartons are sealed properly and in a good saleable condition
    • Use the correct material handling equipment to reach higher stacking levels, ensuring that the correct safety procedures are adhered to
    • Follow the company's safety procedure and to report unsafe conditions and incidents
  • Queries
    • All queries related to the receiving, putting away and retrieval of stock must be resolved immediately, alternatively, they must be escalated to the Supervisor
  • Ad Hoc duties
    • Remove empty pallets to the back yard
    • Assist with the picking of Reservations
    • Keep yard tidy
    • Assist with the controlling and stacking of new cartons
    • Assist, when required, with the replenishment off stacked stock to the picking lines
    • Maintain materials handling equipment as per procedure
    • Assist with the loading of any large consignments into containers
  • Attend green area meetings
    • To participate in green areas:
      • Discuss any problems that may occur
      • Make suggestions in terms of work flow improvements
      • Ensure that green area is always neat and tidy
    • Adhere to green area's code of conduct for a meeting
Minimum Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a Warehouse operations environment
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • MHE License / Reach Truck license - Compulsory
  • Counterbalance license - advantageous
  • VNA License - advantageous
