IntroductionThe BMO (Stock Planner) is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory across retail stores to ensure the right products are available in the right quantities at the right time, while minimizing costs and avoiding overstock or stockouts. The role requires close collaboration with stores, agents, company executives, warehouse management, dispatch, and back-office support teams to drive operational efficiency and achieve key business KPIs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data and market trends
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across retail stores
- Ensure timely replenishment of stock based on agreed parameters (min/max levels, safety stock)
- Identify and mitigate risks related to stockouts, overstocking, and obsolete inventory
- Analyse stock performance and produce regular reports (e.g. stock out reports, slow moving/toxic, stock turn analysis)
- Support promotional planning and new product launches with appropriate stock allocation
- Maintain data accuracy within inventory management systems
- Continuously improve stock planning processes and efficiencies

- Toxic stock 5 % or less contribution to overall stock holding.

- Submit and upload weekly/monthly reports from agents.
- NQF Level 4 (Matric equivalent)
- Numeracy to NQF Level 4
- SAP and Microsoft Office experience and knowledge.
- BMO qualification and experience is preferred.
- Experience in inventory planning, retail and supply chain
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, forecasting)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
