Sports Product Manager
Job Description
A high-growth iGaming and Sports Betting operator is building a next-generation sportsbook product function in Cape Town and is seeking an experienced Sports Product Manager to lead sportsbook product strategy, governance, and performance across a multi-jurisdictional operation.
This is a pivotal role for a commercially sharp product leader who understands fast-scaling digital businesses, regulated environments, and the pace of the online betting industry. You will act as the sportsbook product owner, ensuring the organisation is positioned for sustainable growth through a world-class betting experience.
The OpportunityAs Sports Product Manager, you will take ownership of sportsbook product performance across the betting journey, including navigation, event discovery, betslip, pricing presentation, settlements UX, and promotions enablement. You will play a central role in shaping sportsbook strategy, driving engagement, and ensuring a fast, intuitive, high-converting betting experience.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the overall sportsbook product strategy, planning, and execution aligned to company growth objectives
- Oversee sportsbook roadmap across event discovery, betslip UX, in-play experience, and account betting journeys
- Deliver accurate, timely sportsbook performance reporting to leadership across turnover, conversion, and retention
- Drive sportsbook performance optimisation initiatives using funnel analysis, experimentation, and UX improvements
- Ensure strong product governance, release readiness, and operational controls within a regulated environment
- Manage key platform dependencies across sportsbook suppliers and internal delivery teams
- Partner with trading, UX, engineering, CRM, and compliance teams to deliver high-impact sportsbook releases
- Oversee prioritisation of features that improve speed, clarity, and confidence in the betting journey
- Build, mentor, and scale sportsbook product capability as the organisation expands
- Support new market entry initiatives including localisation requirements, bet type constraints, and product readiness
- Proven experience in sportsbook product management within sports betting
- Strong understanding of sportsbook mechanics including markets, in-play, bet types, and player journeys
- Deep expertise in roadmap ownership, prioritisation, and outcome-led delivery
- Experience operating in regulated or multi-jurisdictional environments
- Strong analytical capability across sportsbook funnels, cohorts, and player behaviour
- Experience working closely with trading and platform teams on feature feasibility and delivery
- Strong stakeholder management across cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at executive level
