This role is a permanent full time position.

• Participate in Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability initiatives.
• Analyze equipment performance to optimize maintainability and reliability.
• Identify and facilitate the implementation of improvement initiatives that enable functional excellence.
• Initiate root cause analysis and "failure type" reviews (e.g., 5 Whys, FMECA) of plant, equipment and non process infrastructure based on non compliance to planned availability or unpredicted failures.
• Manage the improvement initiatives within the Maintenance function.
• Liaise with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering representatives to facilitate the review of the effectiveness of maintenance work strategies.
• Support Lean and implementation of the South32 Operating Model.
• Analyze maintenance data for trends and deviations to improve maintenance and ensure process adherence.
• Assist with development of a yearly maintenance budget based on the preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies in SAP.

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance improvement environment.
• Knowledge of LEAN, RCA and FMECA methodologies.
• Understanding of mine information systems and sound knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, SCADA, fleet management systems.
• Grade 12.
• Tertiary qualification in a technical field or trade with minimum N4.
