Job Description
Residentia is a Christian service organisation with lifestyle centres nationwide, dedicated to the care and wellbeing of older persons. We invite experienced, compassionate, and motivated individuals to apply for the position of:
RESIDENTIA MORIA (KRUGERSDORP)The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a registered Social Worker.
- Sound knowledge of applicable legislation, including legislation relating to the care of older persons.
- Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English, written and spoken).
- Valid driver's licence.
- Strong administrative, organisational, and time management skills.
- Proven ability to implement and improve systems and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- A genuine passion for improving the quality of life of older persons.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, inter alia the following:
- Providing counselling and support to residents regarding adjustment, emotional wellbeing, financial concerns, relationships, and behavioural challenges.
- Developing and maintaining individual care plans in collaboration with the Manager and Care Manager.
- Liaising with the Department of Social Development, ensuring compliance and timely submission of required documentation.
- Maintaining strong relationships with all care partners, including families, healthcare professionals, hospitals, staff, and the broader community.
- Facilitating and participating in group and therapeutic activities for residents.
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of resident activities, events, and fundraising initiatives.
- Professionally addressing resident concerns, complaints, and social needs.
