SOCIAL WORKER

Residentia is a Christian service organisation with lifestyle centres nationwide, dedicated to the care and wellbeing of older persons. We invite experienced, compassionate, and motivated individuals to apply for the position of:

The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a registered Social Worker.
• Sound knowledge of applicable legislation, including legislation relating to the care of older persons.
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English, written and spoken).
• Valid driver's licence.
• Strong administrative, organisational, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to implement and improve systems and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
• A genuine passion for improving the quality of life of older persons.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, inter alia the following:

• Providing counselling and support to residents regarding adjustment, emotional wellbeing, financial concerns, relationships, and behavioural challenges.
• Developing and maintaining individual care plans in collaboration with the Manager and Care Manager.
• Liaising with the Department of Social Development, ensuring compliance and timely submission of required documentation.
• Maintaining strong relationships with all care partners, including families, healthcare professionals, hospitals, staff, and the broader community.
• Facilitating and participating in group and therapeutic activities for residents.
• Assisting with the planning and coordination of resident activities, events, and fundraising initiatives.
• Professionally addressing resident concerns, complaints, and social needs.
