Job Description

Zombie Walk is seeking a talented and results-driven Social Media Manager to lead our online presence for the upcoming Halloween season. This remote contract role is ideal for someone who understands how to create viral content, engage diverse audiences, and position Zombie Walk as one of Cape Town's must-do Halloween experiences. You will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies that build anticipation, boost attendance, and capture the spirit of the event. Your work will directly influence how the public sees Zombie Walk in the weeks leading up to Halloween, making this role both exciting and impactful.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a social media content plan for the Halloween season
  • Create and post engaging photos, videos, reels, and stories across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X)
  • Manage community interactions, responding to comments and messages promptly
  • Track analytics and adjust strategies for maximum engagement
  • Work with photographers, videographers, and the event team to source compelling content
  • Ensure consistency in branding, tone, and messaging
  • Provide live event coverage during Zombie Walk
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a social media manager, ideally in events or entertainment
  • Strong creative skills with an eye for engaging content
  • Understanding of platform algorithms and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in social media scheduling and analytics tools
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
  • Available for flexible hours during October, including event day coverage
