Snr. Account Executive, Public Sector
Job Description
This is a strategic sales position requiring an in-depth knowledge of how technology is used to enable business goals or overcome business challenges. The role focuses on managing relationships with large key accounts and driving revenue while ensuring a strategic partnership with customers.
Responsibilities- Focus on customers within the Public Sector and key Service Providers as primary point-of-contact for major accounts.
- Maintain high-level executive contact to focus on strategic relationship.
- Sell organization's products or services to existing accounts, expanding and retaining named accounts while ensuring ongoing customer service.
- Identify and qualify long-term and short-term business opportunities; proactively address competitive threats.
- Prepare formal proposals, presentations, lead negotiations, coordinate complex decision making processes, and successfully close sales.
- Manage significant key partner relationships, develop executive-level relationships between customer, F5 and partners, facilitate communication on strategic and tactical issues and maintain continuity.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technical developments, and government regulations affecting target markets.
- Understand organization's business needs, develop application of products and services, and communicate how F5's technical value add solutions address those needs.
- Research and develop lists of potential customers, follow up leads, and act to close deals.
- Determine market strategies and goals for each product and service, and understand named account strategies, goals, and objectives.
- Assume leadership role in coordinating account strategy and tactics for the sales support team.
- Assume full responsibility for accurate sales forecasting, using in-depth knowledge of sales cycles; maintain Salesforce data regularly.
- Develop and maintain detailed account profiles (including organizational charts) reviewed quarterly by management.
- Develop strategy for sustained management and success of business, coordinate resources to ensure goals are met.
- Provide regular updates to senior sales and operations staff concerning account issues and financial status.
- Meet and exceed sales quotas and revenue goals.
- Be considered a trusted resource by customer base, expert in the field, credible to influence at senior levels within named account.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Provide and work from a home office located within the territory.
- Significant direct work experience in a relevant customer set.
- Good understanding of Enterprise tender processes.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Specialized knowledge in networking products, preferably those of F5.
- Experience with Internet related software or systems.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent solution selling and presentation abilities.
- Excellent client interfacing and customer focused approach.
- Ability to provide and work from a home office located within the territory.
Job may be performed on site at a customer facility or data center, or in an office environment. Duties require the use of a computer, telephone, and reading printed material. Travel may be up to 60% by automobile and airplane, and may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
LocationHybrid: Employees within 30 commutable miles of an F5 office are required to work from the office a minimum of 30 business days per quarter. Remote: Primarily work from a designated home location but can come into an F5 office to work or travel to an off site location as needed.
