We have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Shipping Supervisor, reporting to the Shipping Manager at our St. George, NB facility.

Job Summary

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of products. This role supervises shipping staff, coordinates with internal departments and carriers, ensures compliance with company procedures and safety standards, and operates on a continental night shift schedule (6:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.).

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily shipping activities, including picking, packing, staging, and loading shipments
  • Lead, train, and schedule shipping staff to meet productivity and performance goals
  • Ensure all shipments are accurate, properly documented, and dispatched on schedule
  • Monitor shipping metrics and address delays, errors, or inefficiencies
  • Coordinate with carriers, freight companies, and internal departments
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and company policies
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, or customer complaints
  • Maintain shipping records, reports, and inventory documentation
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and carrier coordination
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to work in a cold, wet and damp production environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime when needed
