Job Description

AECI Industrial Chemicals - Umbogintwini - KZN

EHS
  • Implement and execute group and business strategy at site level
  • Assist site management in the development and tracking of the EHS objectives and targets
  • Drive closure of non-conformances, corrective and preventative actions identified through risk assessments, audits etc.
  • Provide input into the EHS budget and spend for the site
  • Drive Process Safety Implementation for the site.
  • Custodian for Data and Systems management for AECI Water
Compliance
  • Conduct site audits or inspections for suppliers and customers
  • Influence business leadership on SHE matters
  • Ensure that the AECI EHS Risk Management process are followed.
  • Implement, Monitor and improve critical controls to improve site risk exposure
  • Provide assurance of EHS at workplace and legal compliance
  • Participate in internal and external audits for the site (e.g. ISO 45001, PSM, SANS 1827/8, ISO 9001, legal compliance and 14001, etc )
  • Monitoring and reporting Site EHS performance on regular basis
  • Plan and monitor EHS training for site personnel
  • Ensure that Licence conditions are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure that all reports / reporting are completed and submitted to authorities as per the licence conditions.
  • Conduct Supplier, contractor and Customer audits as required
  • Implement Responsible Care for the site
EHS Process/procedures
  • Ensuring that risk studies are conducted prior to approval of MoCs
  • Develop, maintain EHS site procedures
  • Ensure that AECI EHS standards are implemented on site
  • Collaboration with all at AECI Water (inter-company)
  • Fosters teamwork and collaboration between all functions
  • Influencing and coaching on EHS matters
Qualifications and expertise required (Must)
  • 4 Year Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma in Safety, Environmental, Engineering or equivalent
  • Professional Registration / Membership advantage
  • Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
  • EHS Systems - Evaluation and integration
  • EHS Legal knowledge
  • Influencing and coaching skills
  • Fully Computer and systems literate for Data analysis, interpretation and recommendations
  • Engagement and interpersonal communication
