Our client in the industrial / manufacturing services industry is looking to employ a Senior Field Service Technician to join their team based in Cape town. A wonderful career opportunity awaits you!

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 (with Mathematics and English) or equivalent
  • Technical Trade Certificate
  • Additional trade qualification - advantageous.
  • Valid South African Driver's License
  • Valid Forklift License
  • Working at Heights certification
  • Risk Assessment qualification
  • First Aid Level 1
  • Scaffolding erection and inspection - advantageous
  • Welding experience (qualification advantageous)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Junior Field Technician
  • 3+ years' experience in a technical, electrical, or industrial environment
Responsibilities Site Assessment and Preparation
  • Conduct site inspections and assess installation readiness
  • Take accurate measurements and determine equipment requirements
  • Compile installation packs with tools, parts, and accessories
  • Ensure all Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements are met
  • Complete site-specific risk assessments
Installations
  • Perform accurate and efficient installations of equipment
  • Ensure installations are completed on time and within budget
  • Take full responsibility for installation quality and execution
  • Provide feedback on performance and operational challenges
Repairs and Maintenance
  • Conduct fault finding and breakdown repairs on site
  • Perform maintenance and servicing of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Ensure first time fix and minimise repeat call outs
Quality Control and Commissioning
  • Maintain high installation and service quality standards
  • Ensure proper commissioning and handover to clients
  • Provide all required documentation (manuals, certificates, warranties)
General Technical Duties
  • Maintain full technical knowledge of all products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively
Tools, Equipment and Work Environment
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and accounted for
  • Conduct regular vehicle and tool inspections
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Ensure full compliance with PPE and safety requirements
Customer Service
  • Deliver exceptional customer service at all times
  • Represent the company professionally on site
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Team Responsibilities
  • Support and mentor junior team members
  • Assist team members when required
  • Lead by example and promote teamwork
