Senior Project Manager

Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Senior Project Manager to be placed at Bentley Park, Carletonville, Gauteng & Rusternburg, Northwest. The successful candidate will report to the Project Executive. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. • Oversee a large complex project or multiple smaller projects successfully through effective client relations, disciplined project execution and effective team leadership to achieve safe production and financial targets
• Understand the original scope and to communicate to project management teams
• Engage with stakeholders across projects to facilitate and close out, commercial, financial, technical, HR or any other project risk
• Maintain continuous engagement with clients / EPCM to strengthen relations, resolve issues and obtain new work
• Lead, develop and coach employees to ensure effective day to day operations in alignment with Cementation Africa values
• Utilise strategic and management skills to meet project deliverables, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the work practices / systems and optimise all available resources
• Identify, develop and implement controlled change initiatives to ensure project continuity
• Manage the project in line with contractual and commercial requirements, extension of time and claims formulation
• Attend and participate in Project Reviews and monitor contractual entitlements /costs across projects
• Provide input into development and execution of the project management strategy, framework s and principles of Cementation Africa
• Self and team use SharePoint as a repository for project information and project management assurance

• BSc / BEng / BTech in Mining or Engineering/ BCom Project Management
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competency / Government Certificate of Competency (Engineering mines & Works)
• Project Management Professional (Preferred)
• Exposure to CCS (Construction Computer Software)
• Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking skills, with in-depth understanding of contracts and Project financials
• Strategic thinking, enablement and leadership skills
• Sound analytical, logical reasoning, judgement and decision making skills
• Ability to apply expertise and technology, deliver results and meet customer expectations
• Excellent communication skills with ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and resolve conflict
• Passionate about safety leadership and engagement

• Minimum 10 years of operational project management experience in a similar position in a metalliferous, mining environment, with experience managing multiple projects
• International experience in various mining methods preferred
• Experience successfully managing industrial relations and union community engagement in a highly unionised environment
• Sound knowledge and understanding of one or more specific areas as required for the particular project (Raise Drilling, Drop Raising, High Pressure Plug, Mining Infrastructure/Construction; Ore-Pass Rehab, Cementation Geotech Drilling)
• In-depth working knowledge of Project management principles, frameworks, methodologies, and system requirements with proven depth of experience in project management i.e meeting project deadlines, maintaining the commercial contract and achieving financial targets
• Knowledge of CCS Construction Computer Software and managing allowable and certificates
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team
• Must have commercial and negotiations experience
