About the Role:We are seeking a results-oriented leader to establish panel level packaging platform technology in Advanced Packaging department and develop complex large system-in-packages for High Performance Computing and Generative Artificial Intelligence applications. The candidate will be responsible for driving collaborations with panel level packaging ecosystem partners to establish panel level packaging development line in A-STAR. The candidate will also be responsible for preparation of the proposal by defining the medium-to-long term process capability roadmap deliverables for panel level packaging platform technologies to realise the ultra-large packages with multi-chiplets integration.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare competitive grant research proposal for new initiatives in advanced packaging such as panel level packaging and develop the new teams to execute the project
Engage industry partners (equipment makers, materials suppliers and end users) to collaborate for the new initiatives establishment and develop the building blocks required for next generation advanced packaging platforms.
Evaluate industry trends and define differentiated platform technology architectures to obtain competitive advantage.
Define simplest process flow with minimum number of process steps to realise platform technology architectures at lowest cost.
Establish design rules and PDK for panel level packaging technologies required for IDMs, Fabless, Foundries and OSAT companies.
Engage industry customers from proof of concept to low volume prototyping/ manufacturing.
Act as an influencer in internal leadership and industry collaborations.
Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team to deliver impact.
Foster a culture of agility, technical excellence, individual and team innovation, intra-/inter-department collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Effectively manage research funding obtained through grant proposals, industry partnerships, and strategic collaborations.
Able to manage resource allocation efficiently amid competing priorities.
Ensure the effective project management, documentation, and knowledge dissemination across multidisciplinary teams.
Min Qualifications:PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
15+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor technology development, with expertise in advanced packaging technologies and managing projects and teams.
Broad knowledge of multiple packaging technologies, processes and integration options for various packaging technology platforms.
Strong understanding of market trends, advanced packaging technologies roadmap of various industry leaders and research institutes, and good network with industry leaders.
Understanding on panel level packaging market status and requirements will be added advantage.
Strong, hands-on people manager demonstrating excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
Extensive experience working in a diverse, matrixed environment and collaborating across functions.
