MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo ensure a comprehensive, professional and cost effective pharmaceutical service to in-hospital patients and the public
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS- Ensure the availability of medicines and scheduled substances to stores and the public
- Ensure efficient stock holding of medicines and scheduled substances
- ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: B Pharm / B Sc Pharm / Dip Pharm
- DESIRED EDUCATION: None
- ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
- DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years experience in a hospital pharmacy, stock management and distribution
- Ethical and surgical product knowledge
- Relevant Pharmacy legislation (e.g. Pharmacy Act; Good pharmacy practice; Medicine Control Act 101 of 1965)
- Medical Aid Scheme benefits; regulations and formularies
- Clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship
- Knowledge and experience working with relevant pharmacy systems (e.g. UNISOLV; AS400)
- Ethical stock control practices and principles
