About the Role

The Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region encompasses a highly diverse group of countries and regions, therefore presenting a unique mix of regulatory challenges and platform integrity risk.

As a Senior Operations Manager - Compliance & Identity, you will play a pivotal role in driving key initiatives to address these challenges and mitigate risk.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify operational gaps, launch and optimize processes, review policies, and enhance drivers' and riders' experience on the platform. • Maintaining common tools and processes that are used across multiple SSA markets
  • Assessing new products and features that are brought to the region in order to mitigate any risk to the business
What the Candidate Will Do:
  • Collaborate with Legal teams, Policy, GMs, and local market teams to review regulatory requirements, translate them into operational actions, size risk exposure, and recommend a way forward.
  • Work with driver and local Ops teams to provide earners with the most seamless onboarding experience possible within the confines of regulatory and other requirements. Deep dive into access issues and propose solutions such as document autofetch, innovative comms channels or proactive support processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting drivers' or riders' experience, developing scalable solutions.
  • Analyze operational, driver and vehicle data to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify patterns of fraudulent or non-compliant access to the platform and review policies and processes to address them.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to various stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
  • Work with Safety, Product and EMEA central operations teams to localize new products or initiatives.
  • Create and maintain documentation, processes, and playbooks to ensure consistency and facilitate knowledge sharing.
What the Candidate Will Need:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, consulting, strategy, or data analytics.
  • Prior experience working in cross-functional teams. Experience with identifying, building and improving operational processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem-solving approach and comfort with ambiguity in fast-paced settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business, or a related field.
  • Motivation for continuous learning and data skill development.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets. SQL proficiency is a strong plus.
