Senior Nuclear Medicine Radiographer
Job Description
A vacancy exists for a Nuclear Medicine Radiographer, based in Westville, reporting to the Nuclear Operations Manager, Ansu Fourie. The incumbent will be responsible for providing a high quality service to both inpatients and outpatients, including nuclear medicine procedures, quality assurance and related administrative duties. You will work as a member of the nuclear medicine department and multi disciplinary teams, delivering professional care in accordance with professional standards of practice.
Critical Outputs- Schedule patients for nuclear medicine
- Prepare patients for scheduled nuclear medicine procedures
- Prepare the room and equipment before commencing radiology procedures
- Perform procedures for which the incumbent is qualified
- Perform hotlab procedures and preparations for radiopharmaceuticals
- Order radiopharmaceuticals and other stock as required
- Work overtime when required
- Perform administrative tasks related to business operations
- Participate in all staff meetings, briefings and training
- Maintain acceptable levels of health and safety and complete monthly reports
- Take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures
- Ensure compliance with work procedures and policies
- Act as the radiation protection officer for the unit and ensure compliance with SAHPRA regulations
- Process invoices and purchase orders on SAP
- Keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in radiographic and imaging procedures and participate in in service training as required
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and with non radiographic staff, both in the Nuclear Medicine Department and elsewhere in the hospital
- Degree in Nuclear Medicine Radiography
- Registered with HPCSA and CPD compliant
- At least 5 years' experience in Nuclear Medicine
- Ability to perform weekend work
- Own transport and a valid driver's licence is essential
