Senior Manager- Legal and Compliance
Job Description
The Senior Manager: Legal & Compliance will provide strategic and operational legal support to the business, ensuring effective legal risk management, regulatory compliance, and sound corporate governance. The role supports business objectives while safeguarding the organisation's legal and compliance posture.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert legal advice across corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Oversee and manage legal and compliance risks, policies, and frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
- Support corporate governance requirements and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Manage and mentor legal/compliance team members and external legal counsel.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to enable informed business decision-making.
- Working knowledge of SHE legal requirements and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainability principles
- Insurance expertise and knowledge
- Admitted Attorney or Advocate.
- Minimum of 10 years' post-admission corporate legal experience.
- At least 4 years' experience at management level.
- Proven experience in corporate legal advisory and compliance within a complex organisation.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and risk management skills.
