Senior Field Guide Luxury Safari Lodge Greater Kruger

Live-in Position

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Field Guide for a luxury safari lodge in the Greater Kruger area. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable guide to lead game drives, share expertise with guests, and support a high-standard safari experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, educational, and engaging game drives, mentoring junior guides, and ensuring guests receive an exceptional safari experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead morning and afternoon game drives, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction
  
• Share expert knowledge on wildlife, ecology, and conservation practices
  
• Mentor and support junior field guides in skill development and operational standards
  
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, and ensure all safety protocols are followed
  
• Assist in planning daily safari operations and guest experiences
  
• Ensure high levels of guest interaction and engagement during drives
  
• Monitor and report on wildlife sightings, environmental changes, and lodge operations
  
• Collaborate with lodge management and other departments to ensure smooth operations
  

Requirements:

• FGASA Professional Field Guide qualification or higher (required)
  
• Proven experience as a field guide within a luxury safari lodge or reserve
  
• Strong knowledge of wildlife, bushveld ecology, and conservation principles
  
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills
  
• Leadership experience and ability to mentor junior staff
  
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic operational environments
  
• Reliable, proactive, and passionate about delivering exceptional safari experiences
  
• Available to work on a 3/1 week cycle
  
• Immediate availability preferred, ideally from 1 April
