Job Purpose:
Seigo Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer (Water) to lead and manage water infrastructure projects in the Johannesburg region. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and proven experience in water and wastewater systems. The candidate must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the planning, design, and execution of water infrastructure projects, including water supply, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management.

  • Oversee engineering teams, sub-consultants, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.

  • Perform technical reviews and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.

  • Ensure compliance with national and local legislation, design codes, and industry best practices.

  • Prepare project proposals, reports, and technical documentation for clients and stakeholders.

  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and progress reviews to monitor construction activities.

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.

  • Liaise with clients, government bodies, and regulatory authorities.

  • Support business development by identifying new opportunities and contributing to tenders and proposals.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng or equivalent). A Master's Degree in Water Engineering or related field is advantageous.

  • Professional Registration: Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) - mandatory.

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years' experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in water-related projects (e.g., bulk water supply, pipelines, treatment works).

  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion.

  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, EPANET, WaterCAD, and MS Project.

  • Drivers Licence: Valid South African driver's license and own transport.

  • Location: Based in Johannesburg or willing to relocate at own cost.
