Role Overview

Provide education and information to members on employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans and other products to increase employee satisfaction and retention.

Duties and Responsibilities Provide education and information on employee Benefits and other products (Internal Process)
  • Provide a range of education and information on the selection of health insurance, retirement plans.
  • Proactively engage with members pre appointment to explain the different medical aid and retirement scheme benefits/options.
  • Use a variety of tools to help members understand and select suitable benefits packages to create a positive experience and increase client satisfaction.
  • Recommend options based on clients' best interests, needs and affordability to enhance member's financial wellness.
  • Assist members to complete and submit relevant paperwork and ensure there is compliance with the legislative requirements and standards.
  • Provide customised communication and technology/digital services which enable employees to interact with benefits and enhance understanding of products/employee benefits.
  • Provide assistance to members on queries regarding benefits and assist with any updates or reviews.
  • Proactively contact members and inform on the impact of any life changes or events (birth, health problems, etc) on their benefits package.
  • Proactively engage with members regarding new benefit options, trends, updates, legislative changes etc to ensure ongoing engagement with benefits or products.
  • In depth analysis and data to advise the organisation on which kind of benefits it should offer to attract and retain members.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures to increase administrative efficiencies.
Engage with clients in a client centric manner (Client Services)
  • Provide authoritative, expertise and advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the process of negotiating objective and realistic service level agreements, monitor appropriateness and recommend adjustments.
  • Deliver on service level agreements made with clients and internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure that client expectations are managed.
  • Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within area of responsibility.
  • Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.
Self management and teamwork (People)
  • Develop and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues, peers and stakeholders.
  • Continuously develop own expertise in terms of professional, industry and legislation knowledge.
  • Contribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideas.
  • Take ownership of driving your career development.
  • Setting the benchmark for service excellence and providing guidance to benefit counsellors.
Contribute to financial controls and planning (Finance)
  • Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
  • Empower members to achieve a comprehensive understanding of their holistic financial wellbeing.
  • Provide input into the risk identification processes and communicate recommendations.
  • Provide training and development for benefit counsellors within the team.
  • BCom Degree or Related Finance Advanced Diploma.
Experience
  • 3-5 years Employee Benefits and client engagement experience.
  • Knowledge of group insurance and employee benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans etc.
  • Knowledge in PowerPoint/member presentations.
  • Own Vehicle with a valid driver's license will be advantageous.
