SENIOR ACCOUNTANT CLERK: PAYROLL MANAGEMENT

Remuneration Package: R 397,116 per annum

Purpose of the Position: The Senior Accountant Clerk is responsible for all administrative activities and support within the payroll function. This entails all functions within the areas of data input and capturing into the payroll system, paying salaries to staff, executing the monthly reconciliation function, and conducting all relevant administrative functions, i.e., filing and dealing with enquiries. The incumbent must ensure that all information is captured and processed accurately, according to norms and standards. Additionally, the incumbent must maintain the payroll system to comply with policies, processes, and procedures.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of Grade 12 (NQF level 4) with Accountancy and a 3 year National Diploma (NQF level 6) in payroll or equivalent. A postgraduate qualification (NQF level 7/8) will be an added advantage, and 2 years of relevant experience in a financial accounting environment. Willingness to work outside normal office hours.

Key Performance Areas:
- Administration of travelling, Sustenance and Travel claims, and creditors' claims
- Provide effective Payroll Administrative support services for PanSALB
- Processing of creditors' payments for PanSALB
- Financial Administrative support
- Assist in developing financial policies
- Administer petty cash account
- Administer return/cancelled cheques
- Administer requests for cash advance
