Position: Security OfficerSA Metal Group requires a committed, hardworking, and motivated individual to join our Security team as a Security Officer. The successful incumbent will secure premises and personnel, patrol, conduct inspections, and guard points with necessary verifications.
Job DescriptionThe Security Officer's primary purpose is to protect the personnel and all assets of the business. Responsibilities include reporting any violations of policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Ensure access and egress are controlled at all SA Metal property by completing necessary registers and operating gates.
- Search pedestrians, vehicles, and personal belongings of any person/s exiting SA Metal premises.
- Ensure that all customers and visitors are issued with PPE and that the PPE is returned after their visit.
- Ensure that any item/s leaving the SA Metal premises is accompanied by relevant documentation.
- Ensure that company procedures are adhered to before granting access to staff, including breathalyzer tests.
- Ensure that all gates are manned at all times.
- Ensure that all assigned areas are patrolled at regular intervals.
- Ensure that all company policies and procedures are fully adhered to at all times.
- Previous security experience.
- Registered with PSIRA - minimum Grade C.
- Grade 12 or equivalent with good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Willing to work shifts, both day and night.
- Flexible and willing to work overtime.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Display a professional work approach.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Commitment to a strong business ethic and integrity.
