JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will implement Health, Safety and Environmental (SHE) compliance to facilitate legal and best practice by delivering SHE advice and support to ensure that risk assessments, investigations, inspections, audits, and non-conformances are addressed appropriately.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Building, Technical and Office Inspections
  • Incident and Accident Investigation and Analysis
  • Risk Assessments - Baseline, Issue Based, Ergonomic and Continuous
  • Contractor Safety Management and Compliance
  • Supporting Emergency Preparedness Initiatives
  • Food Safety Management
  • Health and Safety Support
  • Training, Communication Participation, Awareness and Health and Safety Initiatives: Requests Related to the Work and Processes of Parliament

TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Grade 12 or NQF4 equivalent with a Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Safety Management (NQF Level 7)
  • SAMTRAC
  • 2 years' relevant experience within a health and safety environment

IN ADDITION, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEMOSTRATE THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND JOB-RELATED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of ISO 14000, ISO 45000, ISO 9001, and ISO 22000
  • Knowledge of Modern SHEQ Risk Management and Facilities Management
  • Basic Train the Trainer knowledge
  • Food Safety Management Systems
  • Knowledge of the OHS Act and COID Act
  • Understanding of relevant SANS codes
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • General knowledge of the built environment
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Knowledge of safety and security processes, standards, and principles
  • Good SHE workplace risk assessment skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the overall Health and Safety Ecosystem
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Safety conscious and ethical behavior
  • Ability to respond quickly to business needs, including agility, flexibility, continuous learning, innovation, and a proven ability to experiment with creative business solutions
  • Inclusive mindset: eagerness for multiple skills, embraces multiple cultures, accepts different approaches, and is human centric/empathetic
