Job Description

We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Rope Access Level 2 Technician (Gravity or equivalent). This role involves working at height on towers and structures to assist with the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of telecom equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation, alignment, and commissioning of microwave links and related equipment.
  • Utilize rope access techniques (Level 2) to carry out work safely and efficiently at height.
  • Assist with antenna swaps, feeder runs, microwave dish installation, and related telecom work.
  • Support senior riggers and engineers with system upgrades and new build deployments.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys, documentation, and photographic reports.
  • Support the senior technicians with tools, equipment, and logistics as needed.
Job Requirements
  • Matric.
  • Valid South African driving license will be advantageous.
  • Clear criminal record.
HSE Competency Requirements
  • Valid occupational medical for driving and working at heights.
  • Gravity Rope Access Level 2 certification - Required.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in rope access telecom or tower climbing roles.
  • Experience with telecom equipment from Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, etc.
  • Basic understanding of RF/microwave systems, antennas, and telecom infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of rigging, lifting, and tower safety protocols.
  • Competent and/or Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments.
  • Physically fit and able to lift equipment and work on-site.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and learn quickly.
