Job Description

Overview

This varied role executes the wider marketing and trade relations strategy for Roam. The ideal candidate will be highly accountable, with exceptional attention to detail and strong planning and execution skills.

Responsibilities
  • Sales Experience: Pre-requisite experience with African tourism stakeholders and industry players (deep knowledge of, and experience with, key tour operators, accommodation suppliers, and industry affiliations).
  • Flexibility: Able to work on varied projects and commitments concurrently. This is a permanent role based in-office, five days a week. After a three-month period, this arrangement can be reviewed with the Growth Director.
  • Required Skillset and Experience: Social and content marketing approvals (ensuring content resonates with Roam's target audience by segment).
  • Partnerships: activations, opportunities, and execution.
  • Events: end-to-end industry event and trade show management, including booth/activation design, staffing, and collateral; speaking opportunities and sponsorships; hosted launch webinars; association memberships and conferences; and Tourism Boards (local and regional).
  • PR and traditional media: management.
  • Coordination: with Roam ambassadors and the Roam sales team.
  • Budget and brand adherence: working within pre-defined parameters for budget, strategy, and brand guidelines.
  • General qualifications: Responsible, detail-oriented, and administratively strong, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Collateral development: Manage the development and execution of collateral for the marketing and sales teams.

The ideal candidate will be fully accountable for delivering results. They are a self-starter who does not require daily management, and they will work directly with the Growth Director.
