Retail Project Manager Assistant (Gauteng)

Our client in the FMCG retail space is seeking a Project Manager Assistant to provide essential support across regional projects in the Gauteng. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring smooth coordination of store openings, upgrades, and conversions. With strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with stakeholders at every level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately set project costs
  • Consider and/or investigate cost implications for projects
  • Logistical arrangements with suppliers to streamline store openings
  • Develop a detailed checklist of items to be used at individual projects
  • Ensure project details and timings are accurately communicated to various parties involved
  • Manage project expenses & reconcile according to budgets
  • Collate and report data during conversions
  • Maintain effective working relationship with all relevant parties
  • Effectively manage multiple projects at a time
  • General administration skills
  • Filing
  • Coordinate project requirements with all stakeholders
  • Responsible for complete store setup (New stores/ Upgrades)
Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Completed Tertiary education (Business Administration, Project Management or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and outline-driven pressurized environment
  • Own reliable transport
  • Team Player
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Confident inter-personal skills (ability to deal with people of all levels, and in different departments)
  • Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Deadline driven
  • Ability to handle more than one project at a time
  • Ability to multitask under great pressure
  • Very good communication skills
  • Use own initiative
  • Responsible, able to work without extensive management
