Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire a Restaurant Manager based in Pretoria.

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations in a busy, fast-paced environment. This role requires a dynamic leader who can balance operational excellence with exceptional guest experience, ensuring smooth service delivery, effective team management, and strong cost control. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving team performance, maintaining service standards, managing stock and operational processes, and creating a welcoming and professional dining environment.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient service and high operational standards.
  • Deliver and maintain an exceptional guest experience, resolving customer queries and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate the restaurant team, ensuring productivity, discipline, and service excellence.
  • Manage staff scheduling, performance management, and training to maintain a strong and capable team.
  • Maintain strict stock control procedures, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing wastage.
  • Monitor food and beverage costs to ensure profitability and effective cost management.
  • Ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards are consistently maintained in line with company policies and regulations.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily operational reporting.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented restaurant environment.
  • Implement operational improvements to enhance service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • South African ID.
  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong customer service and guest engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and motivating teams.
  • Solid stock control and inventory management experience.
  • Good understanding of cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
