Job Description
Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is looking for a Full-time Commercial Loan Officer II for our St George branch.
Summary
Position PurposeIn partnership with branch/department employees, the Relationship Manager II helps ensure branch and department controls meet risk requirements for the bank. They also work to meet organizational, financial, operational, service, sales, and growth plans while following established policies and procedures in all areas of the bank. The role oversees the provision of a full range of services to internal and external customers, ensuring prompt and professional service. The officer builds and manages a loan portfolio of $15 million or higher with little or no loss, aiming to maintain and increase asset quality and generate fee income. They foster honest, open communication within the loan team, branch, and departments of the bank they interact with, promoting professionalism, trust, teamwork, and caring.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Originate new loan commitments each year in accordance with the bank's incentive compensation plan.
- Generate and manage a loan portfolio of $15 20 million or higher to maintain asset quality and generate fee income.
- Manage construction, CRE, SBA, consumer, and C&I loans, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, collecting on past due loans, monitoring covenants, grading loans accurately, and completing monitoring reports promptly.
- Take applications for loan business and analyze the degree of risk involved in making a credit decision.
- Call on new and existing customers to expand and develop relationships, emphasizing attraction of new and additional loans, deposits, and other bank products.
- Effectively work with a team to prepare and present loans for approval.
- Process loan renewals and extension requests.
- Review all loan documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance and clearly review the details of the approved loan with the customer.
- Produce increasing profitable loan volume, maintain a low delinquency and charge off rate, and ensure lending operations follow bank policies and procedures.
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Stay current on all bank policies, procedures, processes, products, and services by participating in learning activities.
- Respond in a timely manner to internal audits and other management reporting requests.
- Complete required bank training courses within the assigned time frame(s). The learner is responsible for understanding the training content and seeking clarification if needed.

- Two to five years of similar or related experience.
- A college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience analyzing business financial statements and other pertinent data for assessing risk.
- Understanding of business entity structures.
- Knowledge of bank products, lending law, and compliance requirements.
- Computer skills, including CRM tools.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Strong managerial skills.
- Ability to interact calmly and professionally with diverse people at various levels.
- Regular, reliable, timely attendance.
- Ability to adapt to change through time management, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to deal with a variety of variables under limited standardization and interpret instructions.
- Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, loss, commission markup, selling price, ratios, proportions, and percentages. Able to perform simple algebra.
- Vocabulary of 5,000 6,000 words; ability to read, define unfamiliar words, write complex sentences with proper punctuation, and communicate in complex sentences with proper tenses.
- Frequent local travel: average 2 3 days a week.
- No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
- Sitting most of the time; exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit; use hands in repetitive motions to finger, grasp, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6 8 hours per day when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing or descending stairs in an emergency.
Specific vision abilities required: close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, transcribe, view a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection of small defects or parts, and operating machines or measurement devices at close distances.
