What will you do?

Santam has an exciting opportunity available in our Reinsurance department at Head Office in Cape Town to fulfill the role of Reinsurance & Sasria System Administrator.

About the role

The purpose of the role is to understand stakeholders' needs in the purchase and administration of reinsurance and Sasria. Provide relationship support, advice, and training to all stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure total continuous aligned RI systems in support of the various Group Reinsurance Structures (PC, CC, WEB-e, AMS, JDE, BI, etc) and any internal and external Audit findings. Recommendations are to be resolved within the required audit timeframes. Identify Reinsurance structures, ensuring these are secured and in place and accurate capturing of the annual renewal structure on the Group's IT platform takes place.
  • Projects - Enhancement of business processes in line with project plans and audit feedback from internal, external, and Sasria. Input on requirements, development, and testing. Operations are compliant with Sasria Regulatory requirements. Authorisation of facultative placements above Reinsurance Treaty Limits. Conducting of business, relating to reinsurance and Sasria, in line with the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Internal and External - Provide Technical coaching, advice, problem-solving, and skills transfer.
  • System testing on Sasria and Reinsurance requirements.
  • Business Support with production enquiries relating to Sasria and Reinsurance Systems.
What will make you successful in this role? Qualifications and Experience
  • Matric
  • Qualification in IT/System/Risk Management or similar advantageous
  • 2 - 5 years in IT systems procedures / systems administration
  • 2 - 5 years in Insurance underwriting (Commercial and Personal line experience)
  • Guidewire - Policy Centre and Claims Centre knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Facultative and Treaty Reinsurance experience advantageous
  • Experience in the use of Jira and Confluence advantageous

Our recruitment process
