Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift
Reports To: ICU Nurse Manager

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit provides high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly in high-acuity situations. The ICU RN works closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
  • Monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator status
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered
  • Operate and monitor specialized equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and emergencies
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and care team members
  • Educate patients and families regarding care plans and treatment
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
Qualifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Mississippi (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous ICU or critical care experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
