Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift
Reports To: ICU Nurse Manager
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit provides high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly in high-acuity situations. The ICU RN works closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator status
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and emergencies
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and care team members
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans and treatment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Mississippi (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous ICU or critical care experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
