This high-impact role is ideal for a hands-on quality professional who understands packhouses, staging depots, retailer standards, and supplier engagement. You will play a critical role in ensuring consistent quality and compliance outcomes, and continuous improvement across local and imported fruit programmes.

Strong collaboration with growers, pack houses, depots, and retail teams

Ensure implementation of Staging (retail packing) Depot Guidelines

Maintain accurate communication and verification of information from depots

Work closely with growers and packhouses to address quality issues

• Maintain SOPs and compliance documentation
• Support producers and packhouses in maintaining and improving FFF compliance

• Conduct regular packhouse visits to monitor quality systems and resolve problematic PUCs
• Deliver accurate local and import quality reports
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives

• Resolve quality complaints
• Achieve targeted QC accuracy levels
• Communicate quality matters effectively
• Reduce repeat complaint categories and achieve year-on-year complaint reductions
• Reduce DC rejection percentages

• Relevant tertiary qualification (BSc or similar preferred)
• Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience
• Valid driving license
• Strong knowledge of the South African fresh fruit industry (citrus experience preferred)
• Proven experience in quality and compliance management
• Solid understanding of packhouse, staging depot, and retailer quality requirements
• Strong systems, reporting, and process improvement capability
• Detail-driven, organised, and able to work independently
• Willingness to travel regularly and operate remotely
• Team player with leadership potential
