Job Description

Role Focus

Combine continuous improvement (Kaizen) with project leadership for process enhancements, capacity increases, and technology integration in a manufacturing setting. Focus on driving efficiency, waste reduction, and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production & Operations: Optimise manufacturing processes to boost productivity, reduce waste/downtime; monitor daily performance against schedules, quality, and cost targets; lead/support production teams (technicians, operators, supervisors); develop production plans and coordinate cross-functionally.
  • Kaizen / Continuous Improvement: Design, implement, and drive ongoing process improvements; introduce innovative techniques/technologies; promote standardisation and efficiency.
  • Project Lead Elements: Lead improvement, capacity, and technology projects - manage plans, resources, timelines, and budgets end-to-end.
  • Maintenance: Develop/manage preventive maintenance programs; coordinate for maximum uptime.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce OHSA protocols; conduct audits/risk assessments; implement mitigation measures.
  • Cost Management: Control production costs; identify savings in labour/materials/overheads without compromising quality.
  • Drive overall safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives through cross-functional continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Engineering Degree (Industrial Engineering preferred; Mechanical/Production/Electrical also accepted).
  • Project Management qualification or certification (e.g. PMP) - advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing operations/engineering (managerial level preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and technologies in a high-volume setting.
  • Proficiency in CAD, ERP systems, data analysis tools.
