Job Description
Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join their company specialising in quality Custom Interiors, Premium Cabinetry & Architectural Design. This pivotal role requires a professional, capable of overseeing and meticulously micro-managing every moving part of complex, deadline-driven projects, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion. Based in Durban North.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Matric and tertiary qualification in interior design /architecture/ drafting / project management
- Proven experience in project management (minimum of 5 years in a similar industry), ideally within high-end furniture, joinery, or interiors environments
- Dynamic communicator who loves checklists and can implement new systems
- Confident and resilient, able to question the status quo
- A team player with all stakeholders in the business, able to catch problems and bottlenecks before they occur
- Demonstrated ability to introduce, enforce, and optimise processes/systems to drive team performance
- Exceptional multitasking, organisational, and communication abilities; thrives under pressure and handles all project details, no matter how small
- Confident in using (and monitoring) digital project management software; experience withcom an advantage
- Advanced Excel with an analytical mindset - essential
- A problem-solver with the tenacity to hold others to account and the flexibility to adapt plans as projects evolve
- Happy to work in a factory environment
- Own car essential
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end project management, including careful planning, resource allocation, and managing critical logistics for custom-made furniture and joinery installations
- Proactively hold the company leadership and team members accountable to deadlines, ensuring consistent project momentum and timely delivery
- Interface with clients, builders, and site teams, maintaining open communication, from arranging gate codes, coordinating day-of delivery needs, and keeping all parties up to date with project progress
- Produce comprehensive production packs required for manufacturing and installation, tracking various processes and material flows daily to guarantee high quality and efficiency
- Implement, maintain, and rigorously monitor business systems and detailed project management, leveraging Monday (dot) com and other digital tools to enhance project delivery and operational effectiveness
- Navigate and troubleshoot scheduling, logistics, and sequencing challenges with strong organisational skills, anticipating issues and finding practical solutions
- Foster clear client communication, delivering regular updates on timings, progress, and changes, and ensuring the highest standards of client satisfaction.
