MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Participating in the development and implementation of the processing strategy to meet the operation's medium- and long-term plans.
- Developing and managing process team performance to strengthen capability through focused training, employee development and talent identification.
- Developing and setting production targets and standards for the processing operations team and monitor compliance.
- Ensuring that appropriate controls are utilized to make certain that production, recovery and cost objectives are met; implementing operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improving performance.
- Developing systems and structures required for the achievement of industry best practices.
- Providing and maintaining the best metallurgical standards to continuously improve efficiency and technical excellence.
- Constantly improving the production processes, reduction in unit costs, whilst ensuring the quality of concentrate meets customers' requirement.
- Interpreting operational requirements and develop departmental budget to ensure that financial resources meet business objectives.
- Preparing and overseeing Concentrator operations budgets, reviewing and authorizing expenditures, and ensuring that budgets are maintained within established limits.
- Assisting as required with maintenance planning, scheduling and execution, in accordance with internal systems and guidelines, to ensure minimized disruption of production.
- Bachelor's degree in Minerals Processing Engineering/ Metallurgy/ Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years mining experience in a senior production role of which 4 years should have been at production Superintendent level.
- ERB registration
- Previous Concentrator plant commissioning experience is highly desirable.
The Production Superintendent will be responsible for effectively providing leadership and guidance to Concentrator operations and the associated support staff, ensuring that production goals are achieved at optimum efficiency and minimum cost while maximizing production rates of ore and recovery of Copper and Silver, directing the Concentrator technical groups to maximize availability and optimize process performance, all consistent with safe operating procedures, applicable laws and sound business practices.
