Essence of the job

Our client is seeking a Production Geologist to collect and interpret geological data to guide short-term mine planning and operations, focusing on grade control, ore body identification, and minimizing dilution and ore loss through collaboration with mining engineers and mine planners.

Qualification

A tertiary qualification/diploma in Geology from a recognized institution.

Minimum Requirements
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in open pit production geology in a mine setting with experience in sampling practices, grade control systems and reconciliation.
  • Proven experience in using geological software and geostatistical data analysis tools such as Database, GIS, and Leapfrog or similar software, in particular 3D modelling.
  • Strong understanding of geological principles and concepts.
  • A good understanding of quality control and quality assurance protocols.
  • Ability to interpret geological data and develop accurate resource models.
  • Strong 3D interpretation and modelling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in the production of technical documentations and reports.
  • Experience in exploration data analysis and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to verify and validate geological data.
  • Ability to interpret geological information in 3D.
