Production Engineer

An industry leader in the packaging/manufacturing sector is seeking a qualified Production Engineer based in Pinetown. This person will be responsible for production engineering projects within the factories.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all machine and plant maintenance
  • Work with the production team to ensure reliable machine and plant performance
  • Identify and achieve measurable technical and process improvements
  • Ensure critical spares are in stock and managed effectively
  • Maintain engineering excellence in the plant
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following safety best practices
  • Maintain housekeeping and company standards consistently
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects on the production line in partnership with production
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:
  • BSc/BEng in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechatronics engineering is essential. National Diplomas and/or BTech degrees will not be considered.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment, preferably packaging or FMCG related
  • Understanding of continuous production processes is advantageous
  • Logical and critical thinking skills are essential
  • Willing to work on the factory floor in a production environment
