Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire a Procurement Buyer for our client based in Sandton.
- Lead the day-to-day procurement function in collaboration with the Finance team, ensuring strict budget adherence and smooth operational execution.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies and products by conducting market research and sourcing cost-effective solutions aligned with business needs.
- Manage and strengthen supplier relationships as the primary point of contact, ensuring timely deliveries, efficient communication, and commercially favorable terms.
- Oversee the full procurement cycle by processing purchase requisitions and placing orders to support forecasted requirements for expansion and maintenance projects.
- Prepare, manage, and maintain all procurement documentation, including purchase orders and contracts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and up-to-date records.
- Monitor and control inventory levels, maintaining optimal buffer stock to prevent shortages and minimize operational downtime.
- A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in an operational procurement or purchasing role.
- A solid understanding of technology and its application in supporting purchasing decisions and improving procurement efficiency.
- Proficiency in financial administration, including stock monitoring and basic budget management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, with demonstrated experience in managing datasets, creating pivot tables, and using formulas such as VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and IF statements.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for evaluating products and data.
- Effective communication skills for supplier and internal team collaboration.
- Problem-solving abilities to address day-to-day challenges effectively.
- Ethical standards for transparency and compliance in all procurement activities.
