Job Description

Position Overview

Porter vacancy has become available at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital. The Trauma porter reports to the Unit Manager of Trauma, Heidi Freese, and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of uncompromising quality patient care.

Critical Outputs
  • Maintaining and cleaning wheelchairs, emergency trolleys and equipment
  • Assist the Manager with ad hoc duties and administrative tasks (e.g., photocopying)
  • Deliver correspondence to doctors
  • Flex into other areas when necessary
  • Transportation of patients
Requirements
  • Minimum academic requirement - Grade 12
  • Excellent communication skills; English is essential
  • Physically fit, with strength for lifting patients, and drive and energy
  • Experience in customer service (dealing with customers)
  • Experience in healthcare is an advantage
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Prepared to work day shift, night shift, weekends and public holidays
