The lodge is seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber responsible for maintaining and repairing all plumbing systems across the property. This includes guest accommodation, staff housing, kitchens, laundry facilities, swimming pools, irrigation systems, and general lodge infrastructure. The role requires a hands on individual who can ensure all water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems operate efficiently to support both guest experience and daily lodge operations.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems across the lodge property.
- Inspect and maintain water supply systems including pumps, tanks, pipelines, and filtration systems.
- Repair leaks, blocked drains, faulty pipes, taps, toilets, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Ensure proper functioning of hot water systems, geysers, and solar water systems where applicable.
- Maintain drainage and sewage systems including septic tanks and greywater systems.
- Assist with irrigation and water reticulation systems around the lodge grounds and gardens.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential plumbing issues before they become major problems.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and maintenance team on larger infrastructure projects.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and plumbing materials in good working order.
- Ensure all plumbing work complies with safety standards and lodge maintenance procedures.
- Respond to emergency plumbing issues to minimise disruption to lodge operations.
This role may require working outdoors, in confined spaces, and occasionally outside of normal working hours to address urgent plumbing issues and ensure uninterrupted lodge operations.
Requirements- Proven experience as a plumber, preferably within hospitality, lodge, or large property maintenance environments.
- Relevant plumbing qualification or trade certification is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of water systems, pumps, piping, drainage, and sanitation systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues independently.
- Good problem solving and practical skills.
- Valid driver's licence preferred.
- Willingness to live and work in a remote lodge environment if required.
