We are looking for an experienced Piping Designer with relevant design house experience to join the Plant Layout & Piping Engineering Department.

- Re-work (controllable / preventable by piping designer)
- Leading smaller size projects
- Taking responsibility for BOM
- Manhour estimating
- Regular reporting and monitoring progress
- Input into schedule
- Proactive planning of activities
- Re-work or late execution (controllable / preventable by piping designer)
- Response time and diligence
- Understanding of baseline scope & deliverables
- Proactive identification of all deviations affecting cost and schedule
- Proactive communication within the team, expediting and continuous updating on design development.
- Proactive communication with other disciplines to ensure alignment and expediting of required information
- Proactive communication with internal and external clients to ensure effective management of clients (if applicable on small projects)
The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Minimum Technical Diploma / Certificate (N6 or equivalent).
A minimum of 5 years' experience in the industrial engineering environment and Petro-Chemical plants.
On the job experience / training in:
- Front end Piping Design for Petrochemical and Chemical Plants
- Plant layout, plot plan development and equipment arrangements for: columns, drums, pumps, re-boilers, heat exchangers, air coolers, reactors, compressors, fired heaters, etc.
- OBL & IBL piping design pipe racks, tank farms, sleeper ways, onsite and offsite utilities, flares, cooling towers, steam generation plants, firewater reticulation, underground piping networks, steam tracing.
- Tie in design and generation of tie in packages
- Pipe supports selection and design
- Software packages: Microsoft Office, PDMS, 2D AutoCad, Microstation (optional)
