You will join the FinOps capability within PPB Technology South Africa, supporting business units and geographies across the Standard Bank Group. FinOps play a critical role in enabling financial accountability, cost transparency and value optimization across our technology and cloud environments.

This role is suited to an early career professional with strong academic foundations, an interest in technology and data, and the ability to translate information into meaningful business insights. While this is a junior role, you will work on real FinOps initiatives and contribute directly to how the business manages and optimizes its technology spend

By the end of the programme, you will have gained exposure to and developed skills in:
  • Apply FinOps principles to support cost transparency, optimisation and value management across technology platforms
  • Analyze cloud and technology usage data to identify trends, variances and optimisation opportunities
  • Support the preparation of reports, dashboards and insights that enable data driven financial and operational decisions
  • Work with engineering, finance, product and business teams to improve awareness and accountability of technology consumption
  • Assist with usage and rate optimization activities across public cloud, data platforms, GenAI initiatives, and on-premises environments
  • Use tools such as Power BI and cloud native services to visualize and interpret cost and usage data
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of FinOps processes, controls and practices, including automation and GenAI use cases
  • Develop an understanding of how technology investment translates into business value
Qualifications

You will have completed (or be completing in 2026) a postgraduate qualification in one of the following (or a related discipline):

  • Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Data Science / Data Analytics
  • Artificial Intelligence / GenAIBusiness or Commerce (with strong quantitative, analytics, or technology focus)
Additional Information Minimum Requirements
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be under 30 years of age.
  • No more than two years' work experience
  • Minimum of 65% average over all years of study
