A global engineering and project management consultancy is seeking a detail-oriented People and Culture Officer for a four-month fixed-term contract starting in June 2026. This Cape Town-based role is designed for an HR professional who excels in fast-paced environments and possesses strong analytical capabilities. The successful candidate will support the Group HR Manager by providing high-quality administrative support throughoutthe employee lifecycle, ensuring a seamless experience for candidates and internal stakeholders. This position is ideal for an individual who values continuous improvement and thrives when managing diverse HR initiatives and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end new starter experience, including contract administration, onboarding documentation, and conducting company inductions.
  • Offboarding Compliance: Facilitate the resignation and exit process, ensuring all compliance requirements are met, conducting exit interviews, and managing the return of company assets.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist with talent acquisition by managing internal and external job postings, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and maintaining candidate correspondence.
  • HRIS Administration: Maintain the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to ensure all employee records are accurate and up to date for payroll processing.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Collate and analyse HR data and statistics to produce reports for management and business development purposes.
  • Documentation and Policies: Assist in creating and updating position descriptions and ensure all HR activities align with established company policies and legislative requirements.
  • Global Collaboration: Work with international People Group members to ensure consistency in HR service delivery across different jurisdictions.
  • Compliance and Immigration: Support the administrative aspects of international assignments, including immigration processes and jurisdictional compliance
Requirements
  • Experience:A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a Human Resources or "People" focused role.
  • Education: A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African Citizen or hold a valid Permanent Residency permit.
  • Technical Skills: Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to solve problems independently.Communication:
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach to stakeholder management.
  • Ethics: A proven track record of maintaining strict confidentiality and exercising high levels of professional discretion.
Required Software Skills
  • Microsoft Excel: Advanced proficiency for data analysis and reporting.
  • Microsoft Word: Professional level for document and contract drafting.
  • HRIS/HR Platforms: Experience in maintaining and optimising Human Resource Information Systems -SuccessFactors.
