POST: Peer Tutors: For students with special needs (11 Posts)

DURATION: 01 April 2025 to 31 December 2025

Requirements: In order to be considered to serve as a peer tutor, the applicant must have:

  • The applicant must have achieved or obtained a minimum of 70% in the subject they are interested in for mentoring/tutoring.
  • The applicant must not have been found guilty of any misconduct and must display good behaviour and good leadership.
  • The applicant must not have participated in a previous similar programme.
  • The applicant must be willing to work extra hours and with students with special needs in education.
  • Programmes and subjects must include:
    • National Certificate (Vocational) in Transport & Logistics and Office Administration
    • Management Assistant/Public Relations: Information Processing N5 & Computer Practice N5
    • Public Management: Municipal Administration N5

Roles and Responsibilities of Peer Tutors:

  1. Provide educational assistance to students, develop comprehensive learning strategies to address their studying challenges, and assist them in college work.
  2. Arrange convenient tutoring schedules, record progress, and evaluate skills with strict adherence to the course content and learning curriculum.
  3. Observe the students' learning approach and behaviors to identify areas of improvement and increase their focus and engagement.
  4. Have excellent knowledge of the specific subject matter to administer the best learning experience.
  5. Combine discipline plans with effective measures and various study plans to increase concentration, participation, and progress student accountability.
  6. Facilitate tutorials in English for a variety of tasks at different levels.
